1792 - Single Barrel

A blast of butterscotch and caramel with a bit of complexity that isn’t found in more basic 1792 offerings.

This high rye single barrel joins the rest of the 1792 family but it brings its own identity to the table.  Heavy on butterscotch, caramel, dark fruits, and citrus, this single barrel bourbon has a lot to offer in terms of flavor profiles.  Being the typical high rye mash bill that 1792 is famous for I expected this bourbon to blast my taste buds away with spice upon first tasting.  I was pleasantly surprised that I was met with a much more pleasing and complex pour. While this is a good bourbon, I think it’s about even with 1792 Small Batch but I find that it falls short of the flavor blast that 1792 Full Proof offers.   If you have all the 1792 offerings at your disposal, opt for Full Proof before grabbing for this one.

Nose: Butterscotch, caramel, cherry, citrus, cinnamon, vanilla, toasted almond

Palate: Cereal grains, black pepper, rye spice, clove
